Well it has been a real productive week. Wednesday I went to the Wake Forest - Raleigh area to film Dr. B on the road. We had to drive separately due to the fact he stays overnight to teach at the seminary on Thursdays, but we met up at the Cracker Barrel and afterward I went to the seminary and shot some footage around there while Dr. B went to a dinner date with another gentleman. I met back up with him at Richland Creek Community Church his Raleigh mentoring class to film some extra shots and his interaction with the men there. Everything went really good, and I got back into Wilmington around 11pm. Then for Friday Matt met me at the morning school and we shot some extra coverage of Dr. B. We had some camera problems, but we were able to recover and get what we needed. Around nine we all met at Dr. B's and had another interview with him. I believe Ms. Doris was a little under the weather so we did not do a tour through the house, but we were invited back next week to get what we need. Dr. B has been so great and compliant and willing to answer anything. Jake keep the camera running even outside of the interview which I believe has some great stuff we can use. Each time we go over there it seems we learn more and think of more to get and never get it all. I also learn more about different documentary techniques that I can use and develop. I thought I knew a lot of who Dr. B was, but he surprises me every time and he becomes more and more interesting. I want to continue to get more stuff after we are done with classes, because I feel there is so much more there that we could not spend all our time to get like we hoped. Especially the more we all together spend time alone with Dr. B he opens up and reveals new things and he has really grown to like Jake and Matt which shows his humanistic side not just a public figure, he loves people and you can tell with each new meeting. Also I see the time it takes to enter in and get closer to your subjects until they forget about the camera. I have gained through this experience the respect for all of them especially ones like Naomi who lives with her subjects. I believe we will and do have enough footage to create a 10-15 min or more doc, but this has the potential to be much bigger and leads into so many more things outside of just mentoring, just like with "Nobodies Business". When we return next week we will be asking more personal and family type questions as they take us on a tour through their home and with Dr. B as he exercises. We did get some B-roll in the house, but we will get more and repeat next week. For our next meeting together we will discuss what we have and what we need for our final shoot among other things. But enough with me, I think the other guys are writing some good stuff on their blogs. I have learned so much in this class in conjunction with advanced editing about how to make this film and hate it all is almost over, but then again it all has just begun.
Peace,
TC
P.S. I am sure I have forgot something, but I can add anytime or if you read or hear something just ask and I will post.

As Ive mentioned in class, I think getting to the heart of why you find him so engaging and then giving that to us is the key. Make us light up just like you three do. We'll love you for it!
