Howdy,
I have not given you an update for a little while, but a lot has happen since the last one. We have had I think three meetings on our Thursday meeting dates and our team all went and sat in on a Friday morning session with Dr. B. Everyone got to meet Dr. B and we had time to chat afterward over some scrumptious breakfast. I believe with every new meeting, research and even activities such as this our team grows to understand and develop what we are aiming for in our film.
We are currently working on our proposal/treatment package (more detailed and extended than what I have posted). We met today and discussed each area and divided up the duties to complete the project. It was a very good meeting and we even took time, as always to reflect on the night before and bring up new ideas or anything. So basically we are just in the process of tightening things up and preparing for the filming process. We are getting together some of the documentaries we posted and are going to watch and learn and brainstorm. We will also have a special meeting Monday morning to finalize or package paper work.
On the side I took the liberty to finally watch This Film Has Not Yet Rated. I have been wanting to see it for a while now. This film helped me realize some things about our doc. I learned that the ending is important. This film had raised a lot of questions for me that did not get answered, but that was not the focus or purpose of the doc. In the "end" the director achieved what he set out to do. I have taken this and applied to our film. We too have a film that raises a lot of questions like we ran into last night, but our film is not about a particular religion or what not, but about mentoring. Yes we chose this group to be the case study, but we could have chosen any group and would probably have questions arise with it also. We are going to stay focused and in the end conclude with the answer and focus we set out to find. We will not please the masses, but who can?

Yeah, I had mixed feeling about This Movie Has Not...also. I was excited about some of the ways he got around the legal issues, but I wasn't always as engaged as you would imagine I would be in such a "charged" topic.
Glad to hear you all have met and decided how to split up the packet. Best way to approach it.
I was curious how if at all the Christianity element will play along side with the mentoring. It seems that being Christian the mentors and mentorees would be hugely influenced by the religion. Or is the mentoring outside of the church even though the pastor is the one doing the mentoring?
